Weight grading or fruit combinations: what is the difference?

One determines a fruit’s weight grade; the other selects fruit for a box.

01

Weight grading sorts individual fruit

Each fruit is weighed and sorted into a set weight grade. This does not assess internal quality, ripeness or defects.

02

Combination selection works toward a box target

Individual weights are used to select combinations, helping reduce manual trial packing and reweighing. Results depend on fruit weight distribution, box targets and operating conditions.

03

Confirm the two requirements separately

Explain your weight grades and order box weights. Distinguish individual weighing accuracy from box-combination tolerance. Boxing is manual and needs space in the layout.

This information supports early discussions. Final configuration, layout and operating conditions are subject to the agreed proposal.
